WASHING GUIDE
How do I wash a fine linen garment?
General Instructions
Very fine items of laundry have to be washed in water, leaving them to soak for a long time, so the stains soften.
Then they have to be washed in the washing machine, which is much more delicate than hand washing, excluding the centrifuge.
If there is any stain again (and the item is white) moves a cloth soaked in 3 parts of water and 1 of bleach on the wet item blotting for 5 minutes at most.
Wash it again.
The Lace
Soak the lace for long time, wash by hand. Do not wring, but wrap it in a towel and gently dab the excess water.
Use bleach with great caution: just dab a bit and then rinse thoroughly.
GUIDE STAIN
How do I remove stains when you can not bleach?
General Instructions
When the item is not white, bleach is not recommended but it is better to use classic remedies and "tricks" of grandmothers.
Soak your clothes as soon as possible: all fresh stains can be removed easily, it is much more difficult when stains are dry.
If you use chemical stain removers (some of them are excellent) it is better to try it in a corner, maybe a napkin, to test the fabric and color reaction.
For each STAIN his REMEDY
Yellowed items: you just have to do this with the perborate and hot water (up to 60 degrees for white fabrics and not more than 40 degrees to the other). Perborate also clears the old spots, which tend to "flourish" in household linen left too long time in the drawer.
However it is very simple to prevent yellowing: use all your items at least twice a year and they will always remain fresh.
Rust: dab the stain with anti-rust or oxalic acid, or hot lemon juice. Then wash with detergent.
Streak of iron: hydrogen peroxide, optionally added with a little ammonia.
Mildew: soak for 24 hours, then wash.
Cocoa and chocolate fresh stain: use very hot water; dry stain: use glycerine softener and then rinse with water and alcohol mixed.
Coffee or tea: soap and water, rub with paste pre-wash and leave overnight, or behave like the chocolate stains.
Grass and flowers: 2 parts of alcohol and one of ammonia, lightly rubbing with a cloth..
Fats and sauces: before washing sprinkle talcum powder on the stain, brush and after one hour wash.
Milk, cream, ice cream: wash in the day, don’t let dry the stain . If it happens, try ammonia (diluted in water for delicate fabrics).
Oil: Sprinkle the stain with talcum powder and leave it no more than 1 or 2 hours, then brush.
Put mild soap on the stain and wash the item.
Tomato: prepare a solution of ammonia and water (1 liter of water and 4 tablespoons of ammonia). Put this solution on the stain after putting the part to be treated on a folded towel. Rub with soap then wash it.
Egg: Wash in cold water and mild soap, if the stain persists, before repeating the washing, soak the garment in water and ammonia.
Wine, fruit: if you can not bleach, rub the stain with salt and lemon, but also intervene with a washing-day; if you can bleach remove stains from the clothes with cold water and then hot water and bleach if the stain is old use hydrogen peroxide and ammonia.
Sugar, liqueurs: soap and water (and a lot of patience if the stain is old, because it takes a long soak).
Candle wax: put the fabric between two sheets of absorbent paper and iron. The residue can be cleaned with turpentine or gasoline.
Lipstick: tap on the stain without rubbing with a mixture of ether and alcohol.
GUIDE TO STRETCH
A perfect ironing is not as difficult to get as it seems if you follow our instructions.
Proper washing machine without spinning is the premise for easy ironing.
This is particularly important for items that need a perfect ironing to look like brand-new.
After removing the item from the machine, let it drain hung out as much as possible for a few minutes to an hour.
The household linen are fully hung out and spread open without bending.
Flax, linen, organdy should be ironed very wet to get good results.
All garments are ironed strictly inside out because the fabric does not become glossy and because the laces maintain their rigidity.
It is better if during ironing to stretch lace on a soft flannel cloth, so that they can sink but keep their thickness.
WARDROBE GUIDE
How to store, preserve, perfuming linen so that it could be always perfect and easy to find.
Equip the wardrobe
The closet (or the shelves intended for linen), will be lined paper, preferably washable, so that it is easy to maintain them very clean.
In a romantic home, you can refine the shelves with small lace. Obviously detachable, so that they can be washed at least twice a year.
If you want an oldfashion home, you can use a fabric-covered, with lace sewn at the end to be placed on each shelf, so that the lace falls ahead.
To take the garments easely it is better to find a way to stop the stuff on the shelf.
Organize your wardrobe
The laundry must be suitably divided: table shower, bed.
They also share the garments of greater use from the garments used only for special occasions.
The household hardly used can be wrapped in tissue paper to protect them from dust and yellowing.
If there are many, to recognize at a glance it is better to write a description on a label.
